An Overnight Trip to Dog Friendly Nags Head

I shared in my last post about our day trip to dog friendly Edenton, NC. This post is part two of that trip.

An Overnight Trip to Dog Friendly Nags Head

Once we left the Alligator River Refuge, we ventured through Roanoke Island and Manteo into the Outer Banks. We were tired and didn’t feel like going home. I was able to score a pretty good price on an oceanfront room at the Comfort Inn South Oceantfront in Nags Head. They are dog friendly  only charge a $25 pet fee. Oh and the lobby has fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Bonus points for that!

When we got to the hotel, we realized we had a flat tire. Boo. Chuy, Catalina, and I snuggled in the room while my husband worked on taking care of that.

Since we had a balcony view of the ocean, we set our alarms super early to wake up to see the sunrise over the ocean. It was totally worth not sleeping in!

Chuy and I let Frank and Catalina go back to sleep while we went out for a walk on the beach. It was so nice to be out on the beach before the summer heat took over the day!

The hotel has a complimentary breakfast and it’s really good. You can eat inside or take your food out to the deck which is what we did before heading down to the beach.

The rest of the morning we hung out on the beach, swam in the pool, and then started our drive back home.

We made a stop for lunch at one of our fav dog friendly lunch spots – John’s Drive In. It’s totally dog friendly as it’s a walk-up counter where you can order your food. They have tables and umbrellas but you can also eat in your car. They  gave Chuy a pup cup of vanilla ice cream! I always order the crab cake sandwich which is amazing! If you’re in the Outer Banks in the summer, be sure to stop by!

Now that it’s officially fall, we are back on track with our posts and will be sharing lots of fun fall dog friendly adventures!
